King Mswati to Officially Marry Nomcebo Zuma: A Royal Engagement Unveiled

King Mswati III is poised to officially wed Nomcebo Zuma, the daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma, following the upcoming uMhlanga Reed Dance Ceremony. The much-anticipated union will mark Nomcebo’s transition from “Liphovela,” or royal girlfriend, to “Inkhosikati,” the title given to the King’s official wife.

On Friday evening, Nomcebo Zuma attended the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards at the Mavuso Trade Centre alongside other wives of King Mswati. Her presence at this prestigious event has heightened expectations that she will be formally announced as the King’s 16th wife during the uMhlanga Reed Dance, which began on August 27 and concludes on September 2.

King Mswati’s spokesperson, Percy Simelane, has declined to comment on the private details of the King’s life, stating his focus is solely on the King’s public image.

According to exclusive reports by Swaziland News, Nomcebo, 21, is set to receive a significant financial gift of R3 million from King Mswati. Additionally, a bride price of R2 million and 100 cattle is expected to be paid to the Zuma family as part of traditional lobola negotiations. These details have emerged from confidential documents obtained from the King’s Office Finance Department.

Nomcebo Zuma was recently seen in eSwatini wearing traditional red attire, accompanied by the King’s 15th wife, Siphelele Mashwama. The two attended the inauguration of a R50 million chicken project in Malkens, showcasing Nomcebo’s growing presence within the royal sphere.

Reports also reveal some tension during the lobola negotiations. A family member from the Zuma side indicated that the bride price discussions were contentious, with King Mswati’s representatives experiencing disagreements that led to a dramatic exit by Msholozi, as recounted by an insider.

As the uMhlanga Reed Dance continues, all eyes are on the royal ceremony that will officially recognize Nomcebo Zuma as the newest member of the Swazi royal family.
